1 in 3 women have had an abortion, and half of those women have suffered repeat abortions. Whether having an abortion was a decision that was made alone or was the result of being coerced, the emotional aftermath has left many to carry the weight of an insurmountable burden. We recognize that many feel alone, isolated, and misunderstood. If you have experienced abortion and have suffered emotionally, you are not alone. You can break the silence and suffering. You can trade brokenness for joy.
If abortion is part of your past, and you have feelings of confusion, guilt, or sadness, you are not alone. Finding the courage to talk about it can be difficult. We are here to help you allow yourself to recognize the heartache and take the first step to receive true healing. Join others who understand, and begin your journey from grief to grace. Our confidential groups are offered at 4 different Pittsburgh locations. We know you will find this to be safe place to speak of your past and a space where you can begin to embrace your future.
"It was fear that led me to have an abortion my senior year of high school. Due to the trauma of having an abortion, my only way to move on was to stuff it and try to convince myself it never happened. After 25 years, I knew God was leading me to a journey of healing. I attended a group and found support and understanding. I experienced freedom from the guilt, shame, and suicidal thoughts that had plagued me. I am grateful for the healing I received and for the love and grace I experienced from the women in the group and Jesus."
In our groups we use Jane's book, Where Do Broken Hearts Go? to guide us on our healing path.
